2024年4月13日雅思大作文真题：

Some people think most crime is the result of circumstancese.g. poverty and other social problems. Others believe that most crime is caused by people who are bad by nature. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

有些人认为大多数犯罪是环境的结果，如贫困和其他社会问题。其他人认为大多数犯罪是由本性邪恶的人造成的。讨论两种观点并给出你自己的观点。

写作解析

本次讨论的是犯罪话题。如果选择由社会因素导致犯罪，可以说：

1）生存是人类的基本需求，如果生活贫困，没有基本的生活保障，有机会产生犯罪行为；

2）媒体对犯罪的不当报道可能‬无意中鼓励了潜在的犯罪动机，使得潜在的犯罪动机得以发酵。

如果选择天性使然，可以说：

内因才是根本因素，有些人天性冷漠，具有反社会型人格障碍；

有人天生喜欢炫耀，利用的自己的高智商和社会地位去实施犯罪，博得社会关注。

写作范文

With rosy scenario that human may live in a crime-freeworld, people from all walks of life passionately join in the discussion what are the causes of crime. Although it is sensible to take both into consideration, external factors and extrinsic ones, I insist that social circumstances count more than human nature in most criminal cases.

The major reason is that the need of survival contributes to the emergence of crime. As a creature, the primary need of human is to survive. It is easy to imagine how a creature would like to behave without supply of food. Admittedly, the shortage of food attributes tothe scarcity of natural resources in primitive communes. However, in civilized society, poverty stems from unequal distribution of social resources or from insufficient social concerns. Without food and with grievance, it is undoubted that some individuals tend to commit crimes, such as robbing or selling illegal drugs, to ensure that their families can survive.

Another reason is that the increasing influence of mass media is responsible for some crimes. With the development of internet, some information from mass media permeates into human’s life uncheckedly, which inadvertently encourages potential criminal motives. That is to say, if mass media can take responsibility for their words and actions, they may have the chance to guide those who have the inclination to commit crime correctly, reducing the occurrence of criminal cases.

Still, some individuals consider that human nature is more vital in motivating inhabitants to commit crime because genetic sciences have proven that the behavior of human is affected heavily by nature. It is true that some people bornwith the tendency of committing crimes. However, the same studies show us that people with such kind of mental problems are members of tiny minority of the population, so it is risky to take them as typical in general sense.

In light of all the evidences above, it is crystal clear that social elements exert influences on the incidence of crimes more significantly.
